Lovely salon. Had a fantastic consultation with Robyn was very honest about the condition of my hair and what would be best to improve the condition. No pressure to have it all cut off. Hair was coloured and cut as well as having an intense treatment. While experience was very professional and every care was taken to ensure I was happy with my hair before leaving the salon. Meet Claire & Robyn: The Heart of Pelo Hair

Claire

Owner & founder

Celebrating 20 years of Pelo in October 2024, Claire’s journey started when she opened the salon in October 2004 while raising her young children. With 30 years of hairdressing experience, Claire still enjoys styling clients but has now shifted her focus towards managing the business and marketing side of the salon. She currently spends two days a week in the salon and no longer takes on new clients, instead dedicating her time to ensuring Pelo continues to offer a luxury experience in an approachable, friendly atmosphere. Her leadership and dedication have always been key to Pelo’s success.

Robyn

Artistic Director & Salon Manager

Robyn has been a part of Pelo since her teens, spending a lot of time in the salon as Claire’s daughter. After joining full time as an apprentice straight from school and training under Claire’s guidance, Robyn gained her qualifications and decided to attend university, where she earned a First Class Honours Degree in Digital Marketing. Robyn returned to Pelo as a stylist. With 6 years of salon floor experience, her expertise in scalp bleaching is unmatched, and her other specialist areas include balayage, short hair cutting, and becoming a curly hair specialist. Robyn’s passion for hairdressing, especially colour, combined with her commitment to nurturing new talent and overseeing the education of the salon’s apprentices, makes her an invaluable part of the team.

Together, Claire and Robyn are the driving force behind Pelo’s friendly, professional, and luxurious experience. Their close bond allows them to work harmoniously while maintaining their mother-daughter relationship outside the salon.
